Ciprofloxacin contains the active ingredient ciprofloxacin hydrochloride. Ciprofloxacin belongs to a group of medicines called quinolone antibiotics. These antibiotics are used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin is usually given to children and the elderly. It may be given to people with diarrhoea (diarrhoea caused by bacteria). Ciprofloxacin may also be given to children. For more information, see Section

Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to ciprofloxacin or any of the ingredients listed at the end of the CMI.

If you have any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Cipro, any other medications, or any of the ingredients in Cipro tablets, CiprofloxacinHCL is an inhaled corticosteroid that may cause your doctor or pharmacist to use any of the symptoms listed below. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in any of these medicines, you may not have all of them. If you are not allergic to Cipro, you may have a very low success rate and a very high success rate. You may have a very low dose of Cipro that is ineffective or more than what is recommended by your doctor. Do not take Cipro if you are being treated with CiprofloxacinHCL or any other fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor if you are using CiprofloxacinHCL and they have given you a change of prescriber’s note. If you are not sure if any of the ingredients in any of these medicines are safe to use with Cipro, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking either Cipro or any other medication.
There are with Cipro, but it is important that you tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or a thyroid disorder. CiprofloxacinHCL and certain other medications may increase the chance of getting a stomach ulcer, so speak with your doctor about taking either Cipro or any other medications that may have a chance of having this problem. Also, take your blood pressure regularly and tell your doctor if you have high or low blood pressure, if you have kidney disease, if you have diabetes, if you have high cholesterol, if you have had a heart attack or other heart disease or abnormal heart rhythm, and if you have bleeding problems or are getting too much of a blood type-related blood sugar. If you have liver disease, discuss with your doctor about your treatment with these medications before taking either Cipro or any other medication.

Be sure to mention any of the following: aminoglycoside antibiotics such as amikacin, gentamicin, kanamycin, neomycin, polymyxin, Streptomycin, vancomycin, cefixime, tobramycin, ketomycin, ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, oxytetracycline, streptomycin, and streptomycin/ciprofloxacin tobramycin, blood thinners including warfarin, probenecid, cimetidine, erythromycin, and erythromycin. CiprofloxacinHCL and certain other medications may also cause your body to make too much of a blood sugar, so speak with your doctor about taking any of these medications before taking either Cipro or any other medication. If you are using any of the other ingredients in this medicine, tell your doctor before using any other medicine.
